This week’s photo was taken at baby beach in Poipu. The Hawaiian name for it is Ho’ona. I had a bit of trouble trying to translate the meaning, the closest I could find was “educational” but I’m not sure if that’s quite right – although it works if you’re teaching your child to swim there. If you know the true meaning, please leave a comment.
This beach is protected by large rocks, and the water is very shallow, which makes it a perfect place for the keiki to swim; although I’ve been there on summer swell days when it was so windy it was barely swimmable for adults. But those days are more rare. The water is clear and the beach is small so its easy to keep track of the little ones.
This photo was taken with a Nikon D750 with Nauticam dome.
I welcome your comments and suggestions. Have a great day!
PS – If you have a moment, please vote for my photo entry “Family Beach Time,” taken at this same beach. Thank you!
